Personalized Enrichment

Do you have a specific need?
Email or call 217-303-9062 today and let us personalize an educational plan for you.

Here's a description of the courses we offer:
Orientation & Mobility
Has the travel bug caught you, do you want to get around your neighborhood independently?  Join us to learn how to use and trust a white cane to become your eyes.  When others see someone with a white cane, it prompts them to be more aware of how they can help.

Making Computers Fun
Ready to get connected or get the most from your computer, while learning at your own speed and level of experience? Call or email us to schedule personalized computer sessions where you will learn how to use a screen reader.

Mobile Device Advice
Need a little device advice? Learn to set up and use your iPhone and iPad to travel, shop, connect with friends, play games, find sport scores, send and receive emails, check the weather and so much more.  We can also introduce you to the Victor Stream that is useful for downloading books or music, recording voices for note taking, schedule appointments and much more.

Daily Living Skills
Anyone who has lost some or all of the eyesight can tell us how difficult it is to use a microwave, brush their teeth, fill a cup of coffee, identify medicine bottles, read mail or walk to the mail box.  We reduce fears and frustrations to give hope to our students as they learn new tips and tricks to maintain their independence and safety.

Friendship Fridays
Friendship Fridays are a great way to meet our ECVI family and make new friends.  Why not join one of our book discussion groups which are designed to provide mind-expanding education in many areas.  Join us to get and give different perceptions of the author's message, themes and voice. It's a fun way to learn using the National Library of Congress player or an app on your mobile device.  The player is free and we can help you get connected to Bard and download their app!  We also invite presenters who love what they do to share their talents with the group.

Personalized Enrichment
Do you have a specific need on your priority list, want to try something new or just need some guidance? We're here for you! Give us a call and we'll design a personalized enrichment experience just for you.

All programs and services are free for students. We enjoy customizing daily living and technology skills instruction for students of all ages. Contact us today!
