Programs & Enrichment Experiences
We offer a wide range of FREE small group and personalized enrichment experiences for the visually impaired and blind. Participation is scheduled by appointment, so contact us at 217-303-9062 or send us an email to sign up for a personal learning opportunity. We can conduct in person learning or online.  Follow us Facebook,  Twitter and Instagram for new offerings and fun tips!

Friendship Fridays

Join us the 2nd Friday of each month for fellowship, laughter, and sharing. Email or call 217-303-9062 for more information or to RSVP.

Book Club
Join us once a month to share your literary thoughts. Books are provided by Talking Books and sent directly to your home. Students suggest and agree on which books to read. Participants read the book in advance of the meeting, so e
mail or call 217-303-9062 for more information or to RSVP. We'll give you the details!  You can join us at the Educational Center or virtually by Zoom.

Orientation & Mobility
Has the travel bug caught you, do you want to get around town independently or are you ready to mentally map your living environment?  Join us for white cane basics, protective awareness, increase getting in and out of your car safely, indoor navigating basics (including stairs), object identification, getting the most of your sighted guide and more!

Making Computers Fun
Ready to get connected or get the most from your computer, while learning at your own speed? Call us to schedule personalized computer sessions.

Beginners: We will cover basics like using Microsoft Word and Outlook (email), navigating the internet, downloading music and books, and more.
Don't have a laptop yet or deciding which one is best for you? We can provide one for you to use while you learn.​

Skilled/Advanced: Are you tech savvy and just need to sharpen your skill using assistive technology with your computer? We will personalize learning for you.

Mobile Device Advice
​Need a little device advice? ​Learn to set up and use your iPhone and iPad to travel, shop, connect with friends, play games, find sport scores, send and receive emails, check the weather and so much more.

Full Stream Ahead
Ready to take streaming to the next level? Learn to use a Victor Stream, a hand-held WiFi device, useful for downloading books or music, recording voices for note taking, documenting appointments and so much more. 

Health and Daily Living
​​Do you want to increase your health and general wellness by setting goals and establishing healthy habits? If yes, come in and take charge of your health and daily living routines. Become confident using assistive technology tools to aid with nutrition, exercise, and monitoring blood pressure, blood sugar levels and weight.

Introduction to Braille​
Put knowledge at your fingertips! Literacy 1, 2, 3 and 4 offered for those who want to learn Braille.

Art Talks
​All of our art workshops are designed to provide mind-expanding education in the Arts.  Discover the fundamentals of shapes, textures, smells and substances. All supplies are provided. Check out the Special Art Edition of ECVI Connect: Why Art Matters

Book Club
Once a month, we meet to discuss great books! Join us to get and give different perceptions of the author's message, themes and voice. It's a fun way to learn using the National Library.

Friendship Fridays
Are you ready for a little fun? We are! Every other Friday we gather at the center for fellowship, artsy pursuits, book talks, networking, and more. Friendship Friday is a great way to meet our ECVI family and make new friends.
